I went to the Santa Barbara Zoo today! It was my first time there. I'd only been to the LA Zoo before that. I got such a good look at my favorite animals! One of my genie wishes now is that I could have a non-lethal tiger or lion, or elephant. I didn't want a lion until today, because I had to settle- but I decided they're pretty cool. They didn't have tigers there! I so prefer them though, sorry lions. So it goes in this order: TIGER, ELEPHANT, LION. I love giant kitty cats. I would play with them like I play with regular kitty cats but instead of them wrestling with my hand or arms, I'd wrestle them with my whole body, and we'd cuddle. And like I said- they'd be non-lethal. It would be awesome. If you look at the last picture- he's ROARING! So cool!! I wonder if he was bummed about something. Some of us thought it was that he was kinda pissed he couldn't eat that giraffe he has to stare at all day. I don't know if the pictures show the giraffe in the pen behind him.
Anyway- about the elephant- need I say anything? ADORABLE!!!! These were Asian elephants and not African ones.
Since I'm doing my drawing-a-day album I decided to bring my sketchbook and I'm really glad I did. I'm happy to say I really enjoyed drawing these animals. Well, the lion wasn't that enjoyable because I couldn't get a good drawing out of it.
Other animals I enjoyed seeing: Channel Island Fox, American Bald Eagle, giraffe, a black hog, (orange) flamingos, and the silverback gorilla I guess. It's a small zoo. we saw EVERYTHING in 2 hours.
