Too Public, or Not Too Public- That is the Question.

I don't know why I go thinking that a public blog with a link on my Facebook page with nearly 1,000 friends, wouldn't be read by anyone other than my 19 (declared) "followers" and a few random internet surfers.
Even *I* am starting to wonder if I really want my deepest insecurities to be available for the whole human race to read.

What inspires this entry is the fact that my random dude-friend from church (incidentally the one that was the cause for my Aug. 21st entry) told me Monday night that he found my blog and read a bit of it! Whoa. Didn't expect that. (Hi J___ if you're reading this ;)) He, among many many other people, is someone who I never ever considered would find himself here (and then actually read any of it).
And besides just that, I do feel like this blog is just becoming a place to sort myself out as I make all these discoveries about myself. Who really freakin' cares about that stuff anyway? Maybe my sister and my mom and that's it. I have a paper journal. I could just write it in there. But it doesn't give me feedback. But neither does the blog most of the time.

So anyway...

... this blog is pretty dumb.

  1. i love finding out that friends i wouldn't have expected to read my blog, DO. I actually called one of my guy friends out on it, because not only did he READ it, but he commented as well. he just reminded me that that's what happens when i link to it on my facebook page. we obviously do that for a reason--to get people to read and COMMENT. (or not, whatever)

  2. I have struggled with that a lot too... especially after some stranger left a comment saying I was a judgy b word who shouldn't mention Christ because I was obviously not trying to be like Him (yeah still bugs me) but I decided to leave it public because if someone on fb is taking the time to click over then they really do want to know more about me and that's kinda cool and who cares... if people judge me just from what they read they're getting a slanted view and can do with it what they will
