Ashley loves soccer.

I love to play soccer. The best thing about it is that... it turns out I'm not bad at it. And I get SO into it- I have fun but also get intense and aggressive. I love getting jammed up next to someone and fighting for the ball and getting it back up the field to my team. I usually play defense, but yesterday with my friends I did offense. I missed making a couple of goals, which was really frustrating, but I think I assisted in the 2 that we got. I liked that. I like when people trust me enough to pass me the ball to try and score, but it also makes me nervous that I'll let them down.
The worst thing about it soccer is that I think I have asthma. Or something. I don't have a lot of endurance, sometimes get overwhelmed by my breathing- and last night my hands and arms started tingling so I think I was hyperventilating. But I didn't stop. I just laid down on the field for a minute.

Anyway... Fun. Summer. Soccer. Good.

  2. i have been wishing to play on the local intermural teams for the past few years even though it's been a good 15 years since I've played one of my favorite sports as well. I would like to get a family soccer game together when we are together next. or softball game, it would be so fun! ;)

  3. yeah! That WOULD be so fun! I was talking to Jenalyn about it, and Darren's been getting back into it. I bet Bennett and Jesse would love to play. And Ike when he's back. The only thing I worry about is playing AGAINST the family, because I really do get fiesty and that plus getting easily offended plus family... yikes. haha.

  4. Oh and Lila, if you don't have one, you should go buy a cheapish soccer ball and kick it around with yourself. Do you "juggle"? It's totally lame but I've done that plus passing with or playing one on one with various "boyfriends" and I think it helped me get where I am now.
