I made/renewed a few Facebook rules for myself the other day. I have these assignments due in my Biz class every couple weeks and I'm an even bigger Facebookaholic those days when I should be researching or writing or compiling stuff for the class. (I wish I could just block myself from Facebook at those times. Don't we all?) Besides that problem, I need a healthier relationship with Facebook. I know too much about too many people, but what's worse is I know and wonder about people I don't even really know! It's bad for me (besides being creepy). So my rule?
Don't click on anyone's name or picture that you're not friends with.
(Of course I can if I want to add them or other technicalities.) Anyway, it's awesome!! It helps me stay in reality AND not waste so much time getting lost on there.
Yaayyy!
(I hope this wasn't an over-share. We all stalk, right??)
Chad downloaded this widget for Google Chrome that you list sites you're only allowed to spend a certain amount of time on and then after that time it won't let you in for 24 hrs. You should ask him about it.
ReplyDeleteash that is exactly how i felt about it and would have anxiety about how much time i was spending online reading sometimes about complete strangers comments to friends. annoying! i felt that feeling more and more often and finally DID just delete it. I'm told you can sorta put it on hold and log back in whenever you want without deleting. fyi
ReplyDeleteyes you write about where YOU live silly. here is the girls blog that I essentially steal this from but i don't enter mine. she doesn't know i exhist. i get it from my friend shannons blog usually.

you can look at her back friday 5's, it's fun. she is single has WAY more time than me to spent posting the pictures etc and she's more technilogical so it gives her advantages.
I have resisted the urge to get on facebook ALL DAY! First time in a long time...I have to say, I'm pretty pleased with myself. And now at 9:22pm I am turning off the computer and going to bed with a book. :) Keep up the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's creepy at all to Facebook stalk people. Although, it's probably a good idea not to click on people's profiles that you don't know.
ReplyDeleteI pretty much never facebook stalk people 'cause I'm not that interested in other people's lives. I guess that means I'm self absorbed. Haha.
